Early in January 2007, Quinton Goddard and Adam Morgan, both new graduate students at the Institute of Astronomy, thought it would be a great idea to bring their enthusiasm for science and astronomy to the public via an online podcast broadcast. It seemed like the most hip and modern method to share the good news about science, and the AstroPod was born.
Since its beginnings, the AstroPod has passed into the hands of an enthusiatsic new team of graduate students, led by producer Susie Alaghband-Zadeh, who work hard each month to bring you the latest from the world of astronomy.
As well as bringing you the latest astronomy news, from exciting new discoveries to developments in space exploration, each month we interview astronomers who are more than happy to tell you all about their field of research. Our history section gives you some of the historical background of the month's feature and we keep you updated on what you can see for yourselves in our monthly Sky At Night feature. Of course, we also bring you the best of astrohumour with our Astronomy Joke of the Month.
Be sure to check out the AstroPod regularly to make sure you are up to date with the world of astronomy...
